About Shipping
S&H for an item consists of the cost of packing materials (containers, peanuts, labels, etc.) and the shipper's fees (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). We do not charge any "handling fee" for our handling of your package.
The price listed as Shipping for an item assumes that the customer is purchasing only that item so the item will ship solo. When a customer purchases more than one item, we make every effort to package the order in as few containers as possible, and to use the smallest container(s) possible while allowing for protection of the contents. Our store is fairly good at calculating S&H, but until we actually package & purchase the shipping label, we don't know the exact cost for an order. If the actual cost of S&H is more than $1.00 less than charged, we refund the overage paid as we do not take profit on S&H. So, once we have the order packaged and the shipping label cut, we know the true cost of S&H at which time we can process a refund of overage paid.
We understand that customers want to know how much S&H will be before they place their order, but in order for us to be able to provide that information, we would have to pull all of the items in the order and package them to know what packing materials & containers are needed and what the size & weight of the container(s) is(are) in order to get that cost from our shipping agent, and we simply don't have the time to do all that.
What we can tell you up-front is that whatever the total charged for S&H is the maximum you will pay and that if the actual cost of S&H is more than $1.00 less that charged, that difference will be refunded to you. If we under-estimated the cost of S&H, we eat that amount - we never go back to the customer & demand additional money for S&H.
